This casting Bronze Buddha Statue is a miniature version of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Statue at the Open Praying Area of Pu Tong Columbarium at Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, in Singapore. The only difference is the miniature one does not have a canopy due to the design is too fine, and it is difficult to reflect the details in place.
The scaled-down Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Statue is cast in Bronze, 30cm high, all surface with 24K gold leaf covering.
Since ancient times, we have liked to use bronze to cast Buddha statues. Bronze casting also expresses the highest respect for Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and it is an expression of respect and sincerity. Like The Big Buddha, it is a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha located on Muyu Peak in front of Po Lin Monastery, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It is composed of 207 copper pieces (165 pieces of Buddha body, 36 pieces of lotus, 6 pieces of cloud head), 26.4 meters high, The total height of the lotus seat and pedestal is about 34 meters and weighs 250 tons. It sits on a 3-story altar and costs more than 60 million Hong Kong dollars. It is the second-largest outdoor bronze Buddha in the world, second only to the Fo Guang Shan Buddha.
